Press Release: UCM and Living Resources Announce New Partnership

UCM and Living Resources Announce New Partnership to Improve Access to Healthcare for Individuals with Developmental Disabilities

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

New Partnership Provides Virtual Emergency Medicine Care to Improve Access and Reduce Disruption in Residential Settings

May 21, 2019, Troy, NY – United Concierge Medicine (UCM) today announced a new partnership with Living Resources to provide UCM’s unique Virtual ER services to the individuals served by Living Resources in their residential programs.

Living Resources is one of Upstate New York’s leading providers of services for individuals with developmental disabilities and traumatic brain injuries, serving more than 1200 individuals with nearly 900 employees. Beyond supported employment and community rehabilitation programs, Living Resources runs more than 40 residential homes where individuals they serve live, with support from Direct Service Professionals (DSPs).

UCM’s Virtual ER services provide immediate and 24/7 access to ER providers, using modern technology to access face to face care without entering the four walls of an ER. In the past an ER visit, accompanied by a staff person, could be stressful due to travel, long wait times, disruption in routine, and the need for staffing coverage to be backfilled in the home.

This new partnership with UCM will bring that ER care directly into the residential setting, providing direct and immediate care for these individuals without a disruptive visit to an ER, as well as helping alleviate staffing challenges. The result is faster, more customized care without the overhead costs and inconvenience of an ER visit.

Living Resources CEO Fred Erlich said, “Since Living Resources partnered with United Concierge Medicine, we have received only positive feedback from our employees. Employees that without the use of this service would have found themselves at an urgent medical clinic or Emergency Room. We are very pleased with this partnership and the peace of mind it brings to our employees and families.”

United Concierge Medicine CEO Keith Algozzine said, “Our Virtual ER services represent the best combination of high quality ER care and convenience of at-your-fingertips technology. We’re thrilled to serve the employees and individuals of Living Resources, to enable even greater care.

The new program went live on May 15, 2019.
