Born out of decades of working in the emergency room (ER), UCM Digital Health’s founders knew that the emergency medicine portion of the healthcare system was broken. Or, better said, the triage portion of the ER was not working.

Every day, in emergency rooms around the globe, patients with conditions that do not require emergency treatment actually end up being treated in the ER. The results of that are disastrous: needless costs, taking up beds, using ER staff for non-emergency needs, and ultimately, reduced quality of care for those patients who truly need immediate trauma and emergency care. Our founders set out to create a better solution —and in UCM’s early days, became a virtual ER. 

Our solution today has evolved and can be likened to a one-stop shop for all care needs. The key differentiator to this is that UCM doesn’t exclude in our care or costs; an individual or an organization can use us; and we can provide a multitude of medical services, from triage to diagnoses to care coordination, primary care and urgent care, and more. Our team of medical providers are trained to treat both common and complex medical concerns.

At UCM Digital Health, the patients are our north star. We must find ways to bring healthcare teams (providers, payers, vendors and more) together and collectively solve patients’ problems. We are relentless and unapologetic in our pursuit to make sure the patients’ needs are met.
